The Bindery Shop
In 2013, Bev and Trevor Lloyd opened The Bindery Shop in Ludlow. A market town steeped in history – and in an area which is home to many artisans – Ludlow is the ideal location for a shop evoking the craftsmanship of an earlier time, as well as bringing bookbinding to a wider audience.
The shop was born out of Bev’s frustration at being unable to find tasteful cards that anyone could send to family and friends, and Trevor’s passion for period bindings, honed during a long career in antiquarian book restoration. In creating products for the shop, Bev and Trevor think back to the beautiful stationery shops they have visited on their travels in Italy and draw on the diverse talents of colleagues and friends.
In 2020 – a year everyone will remember! – Bev and Trevor decided that, after seven enjoyable years, it was time to make their work fit around their lives, rather than life fitting around work; they decided to close The Bindery Shop. Their heartfelt thanks go to everyone who helped make it such a big success.
Since then, due to popular demand, they have spent their time adding extra items, particularly books, to The Bindery Shop website and hope that customers old and new will enjoy buying their books and cards as much as they enjoy making them.
